Collecting and disclosing personal and sensitive information about New York city residents.
This bill would require collecting entities to obtain consent for the collection and disclosure of personal and sensitive information pertaining to New York City residents, including but not limited to biometric information, geolocation data, and DNA sequences. It would also require providing notice and obtaining consent from NYC residents when their personal or sensitive information is used for training or developing artificial intelligence models. In addition, entities would be required, within 90 days of a request, to provide residents with a list of third parties to whom their personal or sensitive information has been disclosed, as well as an opportunity to revoke previously given consent, and the ability to delete personal or sensitive information that was previously collected.
